The Shoe Mender

This man works from the foyer of one of the large mansions in Havana which, originally built for one rich family, are now subdivided into dozens of small living spaces.  The Cuban government is trying to renovate these houses, but the work proceeds slowly because of the cost, and they continue to deteriorate.  Grossly overcrowded and gently rotting away, about two hundred of them collapse each year in Havana.
